My name is Elena Sleptsova! And I am a doll maker! Once I got to an exhibition of dolls and I was shocked by the beauty of what I saw. 2012 was a discovery of puppetry for me!
Since then I have been living in this puppet world, the world of creativity and magic! I create dolls, teddy bears, fantasy creatures. My works live in different countries of the world!
Baba Yaga is dreaming!
Description Ideas
The doll was created based on the Soviet cartoon "Ivashka from the Palace of Pioneers". For her birthday, Baba Yaga ordered the swan geese to bring her from the nearest village "a more well-fed and well-bred boy", from which she was going to prepare a treat for the guests.
My Baba Yaga stands with a broom in her hand and dreams of what fun awaits her with the arrival of guests! Babu-Yaga and her guests were amused by a pioneer boy, but the fun was not at all what the Forest Granny had hoped for!

Baba Yaga meets a brownie!
Description Ideas
The doll was created based on the cartoon "The Adventures of a Brownie". A lonely old woman lived quietly in the forest, but one day her own hut rebelled and stopped obeying her mistress. Baba Yaga could not tame her in any way. On the advice of the devil, Baba Yaga decides to get herself a brownie, "so that she can hold the house in her hands."
My Baba Yaga stands with open arms. She, like a hospitable hostess, meets a brownie, in the hope that a happy, calm life will finally come!

Description Ideas
The Baba Yaga doll is created based on the Russian folk tale "Morozko".
The image of the old woman Yaga was performed in the fairy-tale film by Georgy Frantsevich Millyar, a Soviet theater and film actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR. Baba Yaga in the film is very harmful, one might even say that she is evil and tries to do all sorts of dirty tricks. But still, I see her somewhat differently. In my work, I tried to convey the mood of inner kindness, warmth and care. Despite his harmfulness, thanks to Baba Yaga, Ivanushka finds his beloved. My Baba Yaga is a forest witch-herbalist who possesses magic, understands the language of animals and birds, lives in harmony with nature.
