My "Puppet Story" began with a theatrical collage. Working as a landscape designer for a long time, I continued to be interested in dolls, their creation and new techniques. In 2017, for the first time, I became a participant in the Modna Lyalka exhibition. After I found an enthusiastic response from people to my work, I decided to further develop in this direction.
Mavka
Description Ideas
Mavka is a type of female spirit in Ukrainian mythology. (like a dryad or water nymph)
The head, arms and legs are cast from Flumo. The doll's body is made of durable fabric and filled with glass granulate and holofiber. The doll is completely movable, does not stand on its own. The costume is Ukrainian, historical, but in my modern treatment.
The idea to create this doll was born after my trip to Khortitsa.
