Bake-zori is a type of tsukumogami, an old waraji straw sandal, a completely harmless creature that runs around the house at night and sings the same stupid song. If in the house where Bake-zori appeared, shoes are treated carelessly, he can take these unfortunate shoes with him. Further - my continuation of this legend. My Bake-zori is the oldest sandal, which has become a tsukumogami so long ago that it even has its own name, his name is Yukinori. He set up a shelter for abandoned and forgotten waraji. And this is a very good shelter, the varadziks like it there, as you can see))
